ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century with the problem-solving skills required for a sustainable future. it’s quite a distance to st pauls steiner school as we live in west london, however we don’t question the inconvenience for a minute as we love the school. we sincerely hope that achala will be with caio for the longest time possible, as to find such a rare gem of a teacher is a chance in a million. debi and henrique as an alumnus of st. paul's steiner school, i can strongly say that i have been to a very good school. not in the way that i have turned into an eton intellect, but in the way that i have had an education that i understand is different, special and have had the opportunity to branch out into my own interests and work, all at my own pace. now that i am at a mainstream school, i can see that the way i have previously been educated has given me an advantage that others may not have. advantages like perseverance, how to talk to a teacher to get the best information possible, not being afraid to ask questions and bringing a sense of creativity to any subject i am working at and giving it my own flourish. lucas year 10 the main lessons that accompanied throughout the 8 years of education, emphasised the value of stories which underlie the fabric of our human experience, weaving through our histories and endless human discoveries. information was not forced upon, but rather offered once i was ready to absorb it and incorporate it into my experience of knowledge acquisition. the absence of exams throughout my steiner education meant that i learnt subjects, theories, languages, and skills for the sake of the knowledge itself rather than to achieve a grade and the academic recognition that accompanies those grades when or if you perform well. i am now completing a master’s degree in environmental engineering at the university of strathclyde in glasgow. my thirst for learning and desire for new experiences have led me around the world: to the philippines and to alaska. i want to be part of the efforts to reduce humanity’s heavy presence on the natural environment. coco the teaching methods helped me to not only have a wider range of skills (woodwork, handicraft/clothes mending and making, which i studied until gcse), but also a healthy relationship with nature and the outdoors. i’m currently at oxford university, having achieved 3a*s at a-level and 8a*s 3as at gcse. i believe that steiner education gave me a strong sense of self, safety to explore the world (which has profoundly affected my academic curiosity), a healthy mode of expressing my feelings, and a self-motivation that i think would not have manifested if i had been tested from an early age….responsibility is given to you from a young age in terms of looking out for your peers and developing healthy, independent relationships and coping mechanisms under the guiding hand of a teacher. i fully intend to send any children i may have to steiner school, it did not affect my academic achievements, but more importantly, has made me an emotionally healthy, curious, and grounded individual. martha st pauls steiner school has been immensely important to our family. it helped to give my three boys the best possible start in life. they had great teachers, a fantastic range of experiences, worked really hard and hopefully met friends for life. there’s a lot of misunderstanding about steiner schools unfortunately and the work aspect is crucial - there are not many places that children do the level of public performance that the school did and it is incredible for their confidence at a young age. we loved the community around the school and the engagement of parents in the mission of the school. all three of our boys have been well prepared for what came next and are thriving academically and socially. the eldest is now at leeds studying pharma and hopefully maintaining momentum towards a first class degree. philip there are more testimonials from here school policies february 2019 the school’s ‘british values’ statement can be found on the policies page along with all school policies and procedures the parents’ handbook september 2018 a copy of the new parents’ handbook is available from the policies page here. search this site search for: contact st paul’s steiner school 1 st paul’s road london n1 2qh uk tel: +44 (0) 207 226 4454 links more information faqs links © 2019 st pauls steiner school steiner school is a collective mark (regd. tm 3069952) of the steiner waldorf schools fellowship ↑ red ink responsive theme powered by wordpress
